(Batesville, IN) – Crews working on the State Road 229 (Walnut Street) bike/pedestrian trail expansion project in Batesville are completing their work on the east side of the road between Hillcrest Avenue and State Road 46, and will switch the traffic pattern to the west side on Monday, October 27.
Traffic will remain restricted, as it has been since August, to southbound only.
This phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
“Your patience is appreciated as we move toward creating safer and more connected pathways for our residents to use and enjoy,” reads a statement from city officials.
The entire project will eventually encompass the area along State Road 229 between Franklin Street and Six Pine Ranch Road, and is ultimately slated to be finished by the summer of 2027.
