City of Batesville Congratulates Spencer Broughton on Recent Promotion

(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Firefighter Spencer Broughton to Lieutenant Firefighter.

Broughton has been with the Batesville Fire Department for six years and has served the community in various roles prior to this, including Ripley Co EMS, Sunman EMS, Shelbyville Fire Department, and Franklin County EMS.

Throughout his career, Broughton has earned numerous professional certifications and qualifications, including Firefighter 1/2, Advanced EMT, AHA Instructor, Fire Instructor, Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Rope Rescue Technician, Confined Space Rescue Technician, Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, and various National Fire Academy Leadership Courses.

He also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science from Eastern Gateway Community College.

“Spencer brings a wealth of education to his position making him a perfect fit,” said Fire Chief Brian Hardebeck.

Broughton is married to his wife, Bailey, and they have a newborn named Emmett, along with three dogs: Winston, Marshall, and Blanton.

The Batesville Fire Department congratulates Lieutenant Firefighter Spencer Broughton on his promotion and looks forward to his continued service to the community.
