MIDDLETOWN, Oh. – Officials at a suburban Cincinnati hospital confirmed Thursday that a patient who was screened for Ebola, does not have the disease.
The patient recently returned from Nigeria and began feeling ill and entered Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, putting the hospital on alert.
Hospital officials followed CDC procedures and screened the patient, which revealed he did not have the signs attributed to Ebola.
The Ohio Department of Health also confirmed the patient is Ebola-free.
Hospitals throughout our region have set protocols to identify any individual showing any symptoms of the disease.
