Christie Allison Krieger, 69 of Batesville

Christie Allison Krieger, age 69, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, just one day shy of her 70th birthday. She was at her beloved vacation spot in Bear Lake, Michigan.

Born on August 24, 1955, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN Christie was the cherished daughter of Ruth L. Shupe and John C. Harvey. She was raised in Auburn, Indiana and graduated from Dekalb High School. After high school, she attended Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio, where she studied English and music for two years. She left Defiance and decided to pursue a nursing degree. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Fort Wayne, Indiana and worked as a nurse for several years after graduation. Christie met and married the love of her life Dan, and subsequently celebrated the birth of their two beautiful children Allison and John. Dan and Christie decided that it was very important for Christie to be at home to raise their children, so after Allison was born, did not continue working outside the home. Her days were filled with caring for her family and friends. Christie was always ready to volunteer at school and church. And of course, many hours in the car transporting the kids to and from school and extracurricular activities.

Christie was best known for her unwavering love for her family and her gentle, joyful spirit. She had a passion for antiquing, loved to cook, found meaning in her weekly Bible studies, and enjoyed working with the Batesville Beautification League. She treasured every moment spent with Dan, her children and her beloved Wheaten Terrier, Fynn. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel J. Krieger; her daughter, Allison R. Krieger; her son, John A. Krieger and her siblings, Shelley (David) Burns, Mary Beth (Dean) Swiger, and Adam (Beth) Harvey. She leaves behind her sister in law Anne Krieger, and brother in laws Greg (Michele) Krieger and Brien Krieger. Also a large circle of extended family and dear friends will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and John Harvey.

A private family celebration of life will be held at Ignite Church on September 20th to honor Christie in the way she would have loved—surrounded by those closest to her.
