Chester Whittamore, 77, of Brookville died on March 28, 2020, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Chester was born in Burning Springs, KY, on September 30, 1942 to Virgil and Laura Lunsford Whittamore. He married Joyce Ramsey on April 25, 1964 in Connersville, IN. Chester was employed at D & M Manufacturing and White Westinghouse in Connersville. He retired from White Westinghouse with over 30 years of service in 2005. Chester’s hobby was bowling. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, watching sports, fishing, being outdoors, and working with his hands.
In addition to Joyce, his wife of over 55 years, Chester is survived by a daughter: Connie Whittamore of Oklahoma; a son: Michael Whittamore of Indiana; a grandson: Aaron and Hannah Whittamore of New Jersey; a granddaughter: Ava Grace Whittamore of Oklahoma; a great-grandson: Kai Whittamore of New Jersey; two sisters: Nellie Ratcliff of Arizona, and Lilly Brady of Utah; and a brother: Harold Whittamore of Ohio. Chester was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Elmer, Earl, and Pearl Whittamore.
The family has chosen cremation and no services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date to honor Chester.
