‘Cherry-Thing-a-Lings” make a one day return for ‘National Doughnut Day’

UPDATE (10:30 AM) – All 100 dozen “Cherry-Thing-a-Lings” have sold out and will not be available until next February.

Batesville, In. — Today is National Doughnut Day. National Doughnut Day is the first Friday of June each year. The event was created by the Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

In celebration, Clem and Bertie Schmidt from Schmidt’s Bakery will be making 100 dozen “Cherry-Thing-a-Lings” today. Orders can be placed by calling 812-934-4501.
