Charles Lee Ashcraft, 83, of Milan, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born January 10, 1940, son of the late Guy H Ashcraft and Dorthea (Ochs) McKinley.
He served his country as a member of the United States Army.
He worked in Data Processing for Ohio National Life, retiring after over 31 years of service.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church .
Charles was a very private person. He was passionate about helping people and devoted his time to serving others. Charles served as an EMT with Manchester Fire and Rescue for several years. He also volunteered at Dearborn County Hospital. Charles enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and the Green Bay Packers. He loved his dogs.
Charles is survived by his two sons, Brian M. Ashcraft of Milan, IN, Christopher L. Ashcraft of OH; two brothers, Norman Ashcraft of San Antonio, TX, Steve Ashcraft of Aurora, IN; four grandchildren, Cody Ashcraft, Shelby Ashcraft, Sophie Ashcraft, and Ty Ashcraft .
He was preceded in death by father, Guy H. Ashcraft; mother, Dorthea McKinley; brothers, Edwin Short, Guy Ashcraft; and infant sister.
Services will be held at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Rd., Madison, IN, 47250 on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 11:00-12:00.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #9 Honor Guard.
Donations will be made to Manchester Fire and Rescue.
