Charles Granville Hill

Charles Granville Hill, age 80, of Florida, and Aurora, Indiana, passed away on February 7, 2025. He was born on March 10, 1944, to Charles E. Hill and Susie A. (Tice) Hill.
Charlie was a proud graduate of Aurora High School, where he earned a lasting place in history by holding the record for the mile run. After high school, he pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at UC, later teaching at the Vocational School and working at the Alton Box Company. He co-owned the Golden Rule Bible Center in Aurora, and his faith journey led him to serve as Pastor at the United Methodist Church in Wilmington and as a co-founder of the Cedars of Lebanon Church in Dillsboro.
Charlie’s life was marked by a deep love for his family, golf, singing, and fishing, especially with his dear friend, Denver. But above all, his family brought him the greatest joy. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Branch Hill; children, Jeff (Christine) Hill and Camala (Scott) Hensley; step-son, Tony (Beth) Branch; sister, Linda (Jim) McElfresh; sister-in-law, Pat Hill; and a wonderful group of grandchildren, including Kaila (Brian) McCord, Amory Smith, Jeff Hill Jr., Michael Cooke, Robert Cooke, Clay (Niya) Hensley, Anna Hensley, Paul Branch, Peyton Branch; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Ayden, Orion, Lennix, Emmie, and Lorelai, and a great-great-grandchild, Angelica.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Susie Hill Brown, and his brother, Dan Hill.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Cedars of Lebanon Church in Dillsboro, Indiana. A Masonic service will begin at 7 p.m., followed by funeral services at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Denver Craft officiating.
