Charles “Chuck” Bressert, 86, Versailles

Charles “Chuck” Bressert, 86, of Versailles passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 at his home. He was born in Fairview, Indiana on November 2, 1938, the son of George and Evelyn Richards Bressert. He married Janet Biddle September 11, 1964 and she preceded him in death on August 19, 2009. Survivors include his son Bob (Heather) of Aurora; two daughters Carla Bressert of Friendship and Darla (Jeremy) of Madison; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and three grandsons on way; two brothers Larry (Carol) Bressert of Dillsboro, Randy (Pam) Bressert of Versailles; one sister Madonna (Jerry) Gordon of Dillsboro. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dana, and his sister Bonnie Sue Bressert. Mr. Bressert was a 1956 graduate of Dillsboro High School. He retired from Monsanto after 35 years of employment. Chuck was a former member of the Friendship Fire Department, loved watching the Reds and IU Basketball. Chuck was an avid bowler, golfer and dirt track fan and he and Janet spent their winters in Florida traveling all over in their motorhome. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Monday, December 9th at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles starting at 5 p.m. with funeral services at 7 p.m. with Heather Bressert officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison. Memorials may be given to the Loving Hearts Hospice or the Friendship Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
