The North Decatur Chargers baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to The South Decatur Cougars on Tuesday.
SD took the lead on a home run in the first inning. ND struggled to contain the high-powered offense of South Decatur, giving up ten runs. South got things started in the first inning. Seegers hit a solo homer. A single by Nate O’Dell in the second inning was a positive for North.
Pate got the start for The Cougars. The ace went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out six. Carson Parmer led things off on the mound for The Chargers. The righty allowed eight hits and ten runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out 11. Trent Gauck threw one-third of an inning in relief. O’Dell went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead ND in hits.
Seegers led SD with two hits in three at-bats.
