Carolyn Sue Allen, age 75, of Brookville, Indiana died suddenly Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the Emergency Department at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville.
Born November 12, 1941 in Connersville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Glen & Mary Jane (Biddinger) Rusk. On October 15, 1958 she was united in marriage to Richard B. Allen, and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1985.
She was retired and had worked at the former Franklin Casket Company in Brookville, and also J & J Packaging. In her leisure time family was important to her, and she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and fixing meals for her family.
Survivors include a son, Randy Allen of Brookville, and a daughter, Cheryl Thorning both of Brookville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister Ann Nichols of Alquina, Indiana and a brother, Glen Rusk Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Aulbach; as well as a brother Chuck Rusk.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Mike Holman will officiate the funeral services on Monday, May 1, 2017, 12:00 Noon, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Connersville, Indiana.
