Carolyn Jane Titkemeyer, 81, Rising Sun

Carolyn Jane Titkemeyer, 81 of Rising Sun IN, passed away on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at her residence. Carolyn was born in Ripley County IN on December 3, 1941, the daughter of the late Jerry and Evelyn (Scholle) Feustel. She was a 1959 graduate of Aurora High School. Carolyn married Carel Titkemeyer on December 19th, 1970. They were married almost 47 years before Carel’s passing in 2017. Carolyn worked as a teacher for 32-plus years, retiring from Rising Sun Schools in 2002.

Carolyn was a member of the Windstormers Extension Homemakers Club and served as President and Treasurer for several years. Carolyn was also very involved in 4-H serving as a club leader with Jill Elliott for many years, as well as a member of the Ohio County 4-H Fair board. Carolyn was a member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years as well as the Good News Club. She also enjoyed gardening, going out to eat with her high school graduating class every Friday, attending Rising Sun basketball games, and more than anything, playing games with her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Steven (Nicola), of Brandywine MD, and David (Danielle), of Rising Sun, IN; by her grandchildren: Joshua, Megan (Sean), Ethan, Elaina, Nicolas, and Quinn; great-grandchild Rory; by her sisters: Marilyn Reading, Alberta Dunning (Robert) and Janet Bowman; by her honorary grandchildren: Maddi and Kaiti Wilson and by many other family members and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Carel, brother, George Feustel, and sister, Roberta Watts.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, March 31st at the Rising Sun Church of Christ with Brother Andy Sims officiating. Public visitation will be 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Friday, March 31st at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Rising Sun New Cemetery.
