Carlos H. Dieckmann, 83, of Sunman passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. Carlos was born Tuesday, October 19, 1937 in Batesville, Indiana, the son of the late Florina (Meyerrose) and Edwin Dieckmann. He married Norma Brandt on April 23, 1960 and she survives. Carlos was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He had previously worked for Batesville State Bank, Rom-Weber Furniture Factory in the carving department as a hand carver and retired from farming. He was a highly active member of the Milan Lions Club and a former District Governor of District 25F Lions Club International, a past board member of the Indiana Farm Bureau of Ripley County, a former board member of Camp Woodsmoke, and a former board member of St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Association. Carlos enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and farming.
Carlos is survived by his wife Norma of Sunman; daughters Kathleen Sperling of Columbus, Ohio and Karen (Steve) Seymour of Shelbyville; son Mark (Dawn) Dieckmann of Napoleon; and two grandsons Corey and Zachary Sperling of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Florina Dieckmann; his father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Mildred Brandt; and his son-in-law Timothy Sperling.
A visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. On Monday, November 16, 2020, an hour of visitation will be held at 10 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM at St.Paul Lutheran Church located at 7124 North State Road 101 Milan, Indiana with Pastor Sue Socha officiating. A graveside service will be held immediately after at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Association, Milan Lions Club, or Camp Woodsmoke.
