The weather has continued to be good, as have the effort and results of the Saint Louis Track & Field team. The Cardinals traveled to Switzerland County on Wednesday, April 17 for a 3-way meet against Jac-Cen-Del and the host Pacers.
The girls teams was able to outscore JCD this meet, but couldn’t keep up with the Pacers, and earned 2nd place team finish for the night. Both boys and girls teams showed continued improvement. Even in the windy conditions, and during a meet that was conducted quickly with little time for recovery between events, their results continue to improve over prior competitions.
Event winners were: Allie Savage – Long Jump, 100 M dash; Isabelle Wonnell – 800 M run.
2nd place finishes went to: Allie Savage – 200 M dash; Sadie Wachsmann – Shotput, Discus; Kate Weber – High Jump, 1600 M run, 400 M run; Isabelle Wonnell, Sadie Wachsmann, Ava Owens, Kate Weber – 4 x 400 M relay.
3rd place was claimed by: Santiago Schutte – 1600 M run.
4th place was earned by: Marco Canessa – 1600 M run; Thomas Lohmueller – Hurdles; Ella Moster – Hurdles; Sadie Wachsmann – 800 M run; Henry Wanstrath – High Jump.
The Cardinals will continue competitions next week at Batesville and Jac-Cen-Del.
