Cardinals Boys Basketball Results

The 5th Grade St Louis Cardinals 5th-Graders got back on the winning track on Monday, November 23rd when they played against St Mary’s of Aurora.  The Cardinals jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and 12 – 7 at the half.  The 2nd half saw a more focused effort on defense where they held the visitors to 2 points for the half and finished the game with the win 23 – 9.  

St Louis was led in scoring by Ray Walke with 12 and Sam Dice with 6 points, Calvin Padgett chipped in with 3 and Andrew King had 2 points to finish out the scoring for St Louis.  The team played strong defense being led by King, Caleb Harmeyer, and Damien Brelage anchoring the team.  This was an overall good win as it improves the 5th-grade record to 4 wins and 2 losses.

The Cards are back in action tomorrow night, November 24th vs St Nicholas at the St Louis Activity Center.

The St. Louis 6th Grade Boys Basketball team beat St. Mary’s Aurora by a score of 35-9 on Monday evening. The win brings their record to 4-2 on the season.    

With only six players for the game, the Cardinals had a balanced scoring attack led by Adam Weber with twelve points. Rylan Yeager scored nine points followed by David Koch with six points. Owen Hermesch chipped in four points. Kaden Maple and Cayden Lieland each scored two points for St. Louis.    

The boys return to action with a home game on December 3 vs Laurel.

The Cardinals from St. Louis 8th Graders traveled to Rushville to take on Benjamin Rush.  The Cardinals hustled all night but ended up losing by a final score of 45-12. 

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Ryan Duerstock and Adam Meer each with 4 points.  Henry Wanstrath and Santiago Schutte each chipped in with 2 points.  Meer led the team in rebounds with 7.  Sam Laloge and Christian Mack led the team in steals with 3 apiece while Laloge led the team in blocks with 3.  Max Amberger led the team in assists. 

The Cardinals are back in action on Monday, November 30th when they will travel to Aurora to take on South Dearborn.
