The boys scored a very low 24 points beating the rest of the field by double as Greensburg came in 2nd with 48. East Central was 3rd at 95, Connersville 4th at 108 and finishing out the top 5 boys team results were Franklin County at 125. The Batesville boys were led by senior, Joshua Myers who took the individual championship honors at 17:06. He was followed closely by teammate Adam Moster-2nd (17:10) and Ean Loichinger-3rd (17:25). The Bulldogs almost had the top 4 spots as Benjamin Moster was fighting to win that position and just missed it coming in 5th by about .3 seconds (17:48). Daren Smith was the 5th Bulldog to cross the line in 13th place with Dillon Murray 15th. Finishing out the top 20 and receiving an award was Luke Esser in 20th.
A combination of consistent solid running and some personal records earned the Wildcat girls varsity cross country team to 3rd place at the Greensburg Invitational. Junior, Lauren Kelley, gave a solid performance, finishing in 7th place with a time of 21:14. Senior, Katelyn Meyer, had another huge sprint finish for 10th place. Her time of 21:54 was a career record. Junior, Josie Selm had a season personal best and is closing in on a career PR with her time of 24 minutes even. Sophomore, Emma Cabezuelo, was the 4th Lady Wildcat to cross the finish line with a time of 25:48. Sophomore, Katherine Apsley, had a time of 26:08, and freshman, Kenzie Rogers, had another personal best. She has dropped her time from over 40 minutes to 29:36. As a team, the girls have ended their regular season with great results.
The Franklin County boys cross country team finished 5th out of 9 teams at the Greensburg Invitational. Junior, Drew Grant, was the top finisher for the Wildcats. He finished in 16th place with a time of 18:49. Sophomore, Ben Maze, was close behind in 19th place with a time of 19:19. Senior, Kyle Seibert, finished his final regular-season meet with a great time of 19:58, earning 29th place. Freshman, Harmon Marshall, finished with a time of 20:19. Sophomore, Adam Grant, ran a solid race with a time of 20:20. Harvey and Hunter Marshall rounded out the varsity team, placing 42nd and 51st out of 92 boys. Now that Wildcat boys are focusing on their upcoming Sectional meet at Connersville on Saturday, October 12th.
