Bulldogs, Wildcats, And Pirates Win Boys Tennis Sectionals

The Batesville Boys Varsity Tennis team won it’s eighth straight Sectional Championship on Saturday, defeating East Central 3-2. With the team score tied at 2-2, freshman #1 singles player Lleyton Ratcliffe pulled out a three hour, three set win for the Bulldogs.

1 Singles- Lleyton Ratcliffe (BA) def. Chase Lambrinides (EC) 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.
2 Singles- George Ritter (BA) def. Brody Taylor (EC) 6-2, 6-1.
3 Singles- Will Harmeyer (BA) def. Gavin Daniels (EC) 6-3, 6-3.
1 Doubles- Jared Volpenhein/Cole Davidson (EC) def. Sam Giesting/Lane Westerfeld (BA) 7-5, 1-6, 6-4.
2 Doubles- Allen Pope/Zach Bovard (EC) def. Cooper Williams/Adam Scott (BA) 6-2, 6-1.

Batesville will play at Franklin County in the opening round of the Regional at Richmond on Tuesday at 4:30.

The Franklin County Wildcats captured The Boys Tennis Sectionals at Connersvillewith wins against Union County 5-0 and Connersville 3-2.

FC will battle Batesville on Tuesday, October 3rd, at Richmond at 4:30.

The Greensburg Pirates won The Jennings County Sectionals with 5-0 wins over Jennings County and Southwestern.

The Pirates will take on Bloomington North at The Bloomington North Regionals on Tuesday, October 3rd, starting at 5.
