The Batesville Bulldog girls and boys track team traveled to South Dearborn last night for their 8 team invitation.
Both the girls’ and the boys’ team scores were over double of their next opponent as the girls won with 177 points to our neighboring school, Oldenburg Academy who took second with 85 points. The boys’ final
score was 149 points with Lawrenceburg coming in 2nd with 64 points.
Several individual highlights of the evening were announced involving Batesville athletes…Ginny Westerfeld set two new meet records. First in the 100m dash as she ran a 12.52, taking down a record that was there for 30 years of 12.84! She also broke the 200m dash record by .06 of a second with a time of 26.29! Congratulations, Ginny!
The meet also honors 2 MVP’s per gender. One for the most points scored by an individual in the field events and one for the most scored in the running events. Kim Tidman shared the honors in the field events with Whitney Chipman of Rising Sun as they both scored 20 points. Kim won both the high jump and the long jump.
