Bulldogs Split Games With Spartans

Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but Connersville was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday. Riley Zink started the game for Bulldogs, only gave up three hits and struck out six.

One bright spot for Batesville was a single by Quinn Werner in the first inning, which did not result in any runs.

Huffman was the winning pitcher for Connersville. He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out one. Ura hrew three innings in relief out of the bullpen. He recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Connersville.

Zink took the loss for the Bulldogs. He lasted six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.

Brayden Linkel, Quinn Werner, Sam Voegele, and Brayden Linkel each managed one hit each to lead Batesville.

The loss results in the Bulldogs being 3-1 on the year and 1-1 in the EIAC.

The Batesville JV Baseball team got back in the win column Thursday evening when they beat Connersville for the second time this week scoring double didgits in runs. They won by a final score of 16 to 12.

The Bulldogs had a multi hit game from Travis Lecher, Nolan Williams, Cole Werner, Lleyton Ratcliffe, Zach Wade, and Jacob Meer each getting two hits. Travis Lecher accounted for the team leader 3 RBI’s in the contest.

Nolan Williams got the win in relief. He went a solid 5.1 innings striking out 6 Spartans.

The JV Baseball team will be back on the diamond on Saturday with a doubleheader against Union County.
