Congratulations to both the Boys and the Girls Batesville Cross Country teams as they both were crowned the Ripley County Champions. The girls won with a score of 24 points to South Ripley’s 46. Jac-Cen-Del had 71 and Milan 87. On the boys side, the Bulldogs were just two spots away from receiving the perfect score with just 17 points. Jac-Cen-Del came in 2nd with 47 and South Ripley had 79.
Batesville also had the individual County Champion with Ean Loichinger with a personal best time of 16:24. The Bulldogs had 11 other runners named to the All-County team. Lily Pinckley, coming in 2nd on the girls side and running a personal best of 20:15, she was followed by Liz Loichinger, 3rd (20:39), Sarah Ripperger followed her with a personal best of 21:44 and placing 5th, closely followed by Trysta Vierling, 6th (21:55) and Katie Olsen, 8th with a personal best of 22:15. On the boys side, all 7 of the varsity runners were named to the All it was Adam Moster coming in 2nd at 16:56, followed closely by Joshua Myers in 3rd with a personal best of 17:03. Then taking 5th-8th place were Benjamin Moster (personal best of 18:11), Dillon Murray, 18:27, Adam Hollowell(personal best of 18:31) and Nathan Eckstein, 18:49. Congratulations to everyone for making the All-County team.
There were also 7 other Batesville runners that raced through the finish line with a personal best and they were: Alyssa Linville, Nathan Villani (also finishing as the first JV), Daren Smith, Luke Nuhring, Will Nuhring, Kasin Hughes, and Elliott Mertz. Congratulations to all!
The Bulldogs will have a quick turn around as they will compete again Saturday morning at the East Central Invitational. Race time is 9 AM as the gun will go off for the girls. Good luck Bulldogs!
