The 7th Grade Batesville Bulldogs defeated Sunman-Dearborn Thursday night by a score of 24 to 21. The Bulldogs struggled to score offensively, but came up big defensively and held the Trojans to only 6 points in the second half. Noah Pierson and Brendan helped lead the defensive charge by putting pressure on the ball and causing bad passes that led to turnovers. The Bulldogs were led offensively by Gus Prickel 9, Jack Grunkemeyer with 8, Conner Drake added 5, and Deacon Hamilton rounded out the scoring by hitting a huge 2 point put back late in the game.
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Sunman-Dearborn and lost by a score of 43-29. Bryson Bonelli led the team with 7 points, followed by Jackson Renck (6), Lyle Oesterling (5), Cole Pride (4), Will Sherwood (4), and Grant Peters (3). The Bulldogs fall to 2-6 on the season after dropping the last 6 games. They look to end their skid next week at home against South Dearborn, following the 7th Grade game.
