Bulldogs Knock Off 1A #1 Jets

  • The Batesville Bulldogs defeated #1 in 1A Hauser 2-1 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with the Bulldogs batting in the bottom of the sixth when Alex Pattingill threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Batesville.
  • The pitching was strong on both sides. Caleb Raab struck out seven, while Hauser pitchers sat down seven.
  • Hauser knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning. Trey Johnson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
  • Raab was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. He surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
  • Parker Eickbush took the loss for Hauser. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out two.
  • Aaron Mee started the game for Hauser. He went four innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four
  • Trey Heidlage, Quinn Werner, and Drew Kiefer all had one hit. Calvin Sherwood led the Bulldogs with two hits.
  • The win makes the Bulldogs 11-10 as they head back to conference play on Thursday vs. Rushville.
