Bulldogs, Indians, And Twisters Battle It Out In The Pool

Batesville Swimming traveled to Milan Thursday evening to take on the Twisters of Oldenburg and Indians of Milan in a triangular meet. BHS women won 7 events to take the top spot 132 to 85 (MHS) to 72 (OA).

Multi-event winners included Kate Poltrack (200, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay), Allison Storms (200 IM, 100 Free, 200 Free Relay), and Ashley Daulton (50 Free, 100 Back, 200 Free Relay).

Freshman Sonja Gaulin added an event win in the 200 Free Relay and an individual second place finish in the 50 Free.

Batesville Boys placed second at the meet finishing with a final score of 121 (MHS), 81 (BHS) and 52 (OA). Top finishers included Fr. Ethan Brewer with second place in the 200 Free and 100 Fly. Sr. Joseph Choi finished in second in the 100 Free and 100 Breast while Sr. Grant Meyers and So. Skylar Simpson wrapped up top 2 finishers in the 50 Free and 100 back, respectively.

“Our team looked great tonight and really competed well. It was wonderful to see the team in their final meet of 2017. Hopefully we can continue our success rolling into the new year after a few weeks of training.” Coach McMullen said, “I also want to congratulate the Milan boys on breaking their school records tonight.”

The swim team returns to the pool on January 4, 2018 visiting Southwestern-Hanover in the new year, followed by EIAC Championships at South Dearborn on January 6, 2018.
