The BMS Wrestling team fell just five points shy of Madison on Tuesday night losing the match 54-49.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead after Tacoma Nicholas added 4 points with a 12-2 Major decision followed by a 6 point forfeit win for Otto Hund. The Bulldogs then lost the next two matches by pin giving Madison a 12-10 lead. The Bulldogs then won the next three matches swinging the score back in their favor 28-12. Kyan Scott received a forfeit for 6 points. Mason Neeley led in his match when his opponent was injured and unable to continue giving the Dogs an additional 6 points. Alex Murphy then pinned his opponent adding 6 more points. The next two matches both went to forfeits. The first being a double forfeit by both teams, and the second being in favor of Madison. The score was 28-18 when Bobby Weiler took the mat and pinned his opponent, then Vonley Hund followed with another pin bringing the score to 40-18 Bulldogs. The Bulldogs then hit a dry spell with six straight losses which now put Madison ahead 48-40. Chase Hamilton added a decision win and Brandon Manning picked up a forfeit win, but it was not enough to pass the Madison Bears. Madison won the final match of the evening by forfeit making the final score 54-49 Madison.
Several wrestlers had a second match for the evening in JV competition. Kyan Scott added a win to his record with a 14-7 decision. Mason Neeley got his second win for the night with a pin. Aaron Norman and Chase Hamilton both had pin victories in their match ups, and Bobby Weiler and Vonley Hund both got their second straight pins of the evening.
The BMS Wrestling team will face the Trojans at Sunman Dearborn on Thursday starting at 5:30.
