
(Batesville, IN) — Batesville’s freshman boys basketball team takes a 4–1 record into tonight’s matchup with Connersville, with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
The Bulldogs are coming off a split in their last two games, beginning with a 41–32 win over East Central. Batesville trailed early, down 9–7 after the first quarter and 22–18 at halftime, before turning the game around in the second half. The Bulldogs took a 27–24 lead after three quarters and pulled away in the fourth.
Cam Anderson led Batesville with 15 points, while Evan Ibold added 9.
In their most recent outing, Batesville dropped a 56–38 decision to Shelbyville after falling behind early. Shelbyville led 16–4 after one quarter and 32–4 at halftime. Batesville showed improvement after the break, scoring 19 points in the third quarter, but was unable to close the gap.
Anderson again paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, with Ryan McGuire finishing with 7.
Despite the setback, Batesville enters tonight’s game with a winning record and will look to build on the momentum from its earlier victories as it faces Connersville.
