Batesville Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Hauser.

The Bulldogs took the lead late in the game in a 5-1 victory over Hauser on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Bulldogs batting in the top of the sixth when Lane Oesterling hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Hauser took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Hauser.

Batesville ultimately won the game, as they added three more runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Jacob Christie, a suicide squeeze bunt by Quinn Werner, multiple stolen bases and a walk by Lane Oesterling.

Oesterling earned the win for the Bulldogs. He tossed seven innings, allowing one run, three hits, striking out eight, and walking one. Meek took the loss for Hauser. He went two and a third innings, surrendering three runs, two hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Cameron Hartog started the game for Hauser. He threw four innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Overall, the Bulldogs had eight hits in the game. Zach Britton, Alex McPherson, and Quinn Werner and each collected multiple hits for Batesville. The Bulldogs also tore up the base paths with six total stolen bases. Christie and McPherson led the way with two.

The Bulldogs improve to 13-8 overall with a 6-2 EIAC record. Batesville will play at Franklin County on Thursday.
