Bulldogs Blow Away Pirates By Seven Runs

Batesville had no trouble on offense today, winning big over Greensburg 10-3.

Batesville opened up scoring in the first inning, when Quinn Werner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Sam Voegele earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Bulldogs. He went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one. Shane Meer and Nate Eckstein entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ben Duerstock took the loss for Greensburg. He surrendered nine runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out six.

The Bulldogs racked up nine hits on the day. Lane Oesterling and Voegele each had multiple hits for Batesville. Voegele and Oesterling each managed two hits to lead Batesville.

The Bulldogs have won three in a row and are now 9-10 and 5-4 in the EIAC.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV baseball team came out victorious by the score of 8-3 in an EIAC conference game against Greensburg on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs took the advantage right out of the gate scoring 4 runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs ran all over the Pirates collecting 12 stolen bases in all, 5 coming from Lleyton Ratcliffe alone. Travis Lecher hit a no doubt home run to lead off the second inning.
On the mound for the Bulldogs was Adam Cox and he was impressive in his 4.1 innings of work. He only allowed 2 hits and struck out 9 Pirate hitters. Travis Lecher came in in relief and went 2.2 innings and didn’t allow a hit and struck out 4 batters.

The Bulldogs hope to continue the winning streak as they play Lawrenceburg at Lawrenceburg on Thursday night at 5:30. The Bulldogs record improves to 6-3 on the season.
