The Seventh Grade Batesville Bulldogs Basketball team advanced to the second round of the SEI Tourney Monday night by defeating Greendale by a score of 47 to 40.
Leading in scoring for Batesville was Eli Pierson with 17 points, followed closely by Cole Werner with 15. Also adding points for Batesville were Zach Wade with 5, and Ean Loichinger and Hunter Laudick with 2 Each. Travis Lecher added 6 points, including some clutch free throws in the final minutes of the game to seal the win.
The 8th grade finished off a resilient Greendale team 39- 35.
Leading the way for the Dogs with 12 was RJ Powell who also led in assists. Cal Sherwood had 9 followed by Mason Baker with 8. Pros Moorman and Austin Cornn finished up the scoring with 5 a piece. Barker, Sherwood and Cornn all had big free throws in the 4th quarter. The dogs played great team defense causing many turnovers that led to quick points.
We are back in action tonight against Milan. The games will be played at Greendale middle school.
