It was an almost perfect evening for any type of activity, but especially for a track meet. Hardly any wind, sunny, low 60’s…almost picture perfect and the Batesville High School track team took advantage of it as they hosted the Franklin County Wildcats. As I was sitting here going through all the individual results I couldn’t believe ALL the personal bests that were performed tonight. Now, I know that I have a young team and many first time track members making them only have one other meet that their standard was set from, so, that is what went through my mind when I first counting the number of PR’s that were accomplished. Then, as I did a new count, I realized that more than half of the PR’s were from athletes that were on the team last year and they were achieving a personal record better than they ended the season last year. That is amazing! And VERY exciting! But, before I get to the almost 100 PR’s, let’s talk about the meet. Batesville took a split tonight as the boys defeated FC 72.5-59.5, but the girls went the other way as the Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs 75-57. The girls only took home 6 blue ribbons as the boys claimed 9, but many individuals took part in those 1st places.Blue ribbons went to:
