Bulldog Harriers Successful At Northview

Congratulations to both the boys and the girls Batesville High School Cross Country teams as they had a tremendous showing at the Riverview Health “Flashrock” Invitational at Northview in Carmel, Indiana.  With tough competition, a tough course, a very humid morning and 19 teams in their race, the boys claimed the runner-up position as the girls took home the championship trophy.  The boys were beaten by just 10 points by Fishers High School who scored 95 to Batesville’s 105.  Finishing out the top 5 team finishers were Lebanon in 3rd place with 125 points, Avon, 4th with 129 and Brownsburg took 5th with 190 points.  Leading the day for the boys was Adam Moster racing in at 3rd (16:50), Ean Loichinger, 5th (17:00), Benjamin Moster, 19th (17:49), Dillon Murray, 39th (18:24), Daren Smith, 41st (18:27), Charlie Laymon, 71st (18:59) and finishing out the top 7, Nathan Villani, 73rd (19:02).
As stated above, the girls raced to a team victory beating Avon by 6 points 44-50.  Roncalli came in 3rd with 137, Park Tudor, 4th with 165 and Delta finished out the top 5 with 173 points.  Ava Hanson led the girls finishing a strong 4th at 19:59.  Lily Pinckley followed closely behind in 6th at 20:23.  Maria Lopez was 11th (21:00), Madison Rahschulte, 12th (21:12), Sophie Myers, 14th (21:25), Trysta Vierling, 25th (21:42), Katie Olsen, 33rd (22:07) and Sarah Ripperger was the 7th for the Bulldogs in 36th (22:24).  Even with this tougher course, we did have one Bulldog race a personal best and that was Senior Alex Livers.  Way to go Alex and Congratulations to all the Dogs!
Batesville will get a good week of training in as they prepare for next Saturday’s Conference meet which will be held at Moores Hill, hosted by South Dearborn.  The boys will start the morning off at 10 am.  Good Luck Dogs!
