The Batesville High School Wrestling team hosted the Madison Cubs in their home opener. Batesville moved to 2-0 on the season with a 54-18 victory. Batesville gave up 3 forfeits on the night accounting for all 18 of Madison’s points. Batesville also benefited from forfeits with Axel Garcia (182), Brandon Manning (195), Alex Murphy (113), and Tyler Schaeffer (132) receiving 6 points each accounting for 24 of the bulldogs points. With only 5 matches on the night Batesville was able to win all 5 by pin leading to their 54-18 victory.
Nick Nobbe (160) started the night off with a takedown and a pin in 1 minute. The next match wrestle would see Caleb Bischoff-Niese (126) get 4 takedowns on his way to a pin in under a minute. Jonah Chase (138) would then get a takedown to lead to a pin in under a minute as well. JT Linkel (145) would next score 2 takedowns on his way to a pin in 1:45. Josh Mobley (152) would close out the night scoring 3 takedowns and a reversal before getting a pin in the second period. Batesville will next travel to Milan for a 6-way Saturday December 1st.
