(Plainfield, IN) – The Duke Energy Foundation marked Veterans Day by awarding nearly $50,000 in grants to 10 Indiana organizations that serve veterans and military families.
The funding will support programs that honor Hoosier veterans and help them with transitional housing, mental health services and essential needs in communities across the state.
Locally, Sons of American Legion Post #77 in Brookville will use its $5,000 grant to support construction of a veterans’ memorial monument.
“Veterans embody service, leadership and commitment – qualities that strengthen our communities every day,” said Stan Pinegar, president of Duke Energy Indiana. “These grants are a token of our appreciation and a way to help local partners deliver the housing, counseling and basic needs that veterans and their families deserve.”
