(Brookville, IN) – For the second time in three years, a Brookville man has been found guilty of Domestic Battery (Level 6 felony).
Jurors convicted 38-year-old Brandon Ashby of the charge on Wednesday before Franklin Circuit Court Judge Alex Dudley.
The charge stemmed from an incident on June 28, 2024 in which the victim reported she had been battered and choked by Ashby following an argument. The victim and Ashby were dating at the time. Ashby was arrested that evening and subsequently posted bail.
Ashby was previously convicted of felony domestic battery in October 2022 in a case involving a different victim. In that case, Franklin Circuit Court Judge Clay Kellerman sentenced Ashby to the maximum 30 months in prison.
The conviction was later upheld by the Court of Appeals.
Following the latest conviction, Judge Dudley ordered Ashby held in the Franklin County Security Center pending sentencing, which is scheduled for November 13.
Ashby is facing six to 30 months in prison.
