(Indianapolis, IN) – Governor Mike Braun signed two executive orders to provide justice in women’s sports and rejecting extreme gender ideology by affirming policies based on biological sex (pictured).

One of the executive orders, which is protecting women in college sports, comes just ahead of International Women’s Day on Saturday. It follows Braun’s landmark executive order to expand paid parental and childbirth recovery leave for women Monday.

As for the executive order, which is Protecting Opportunities in Post-Secondary Women’s Sports, it directs Indiana’s public universities to follow the 2020 Title IX Rule instead of the 2024 Biden Administration update, which extended protections based on gender identity.

The order is to ensure female athletes in college sports aren’t required to compete against biological males, keeping the playing field level and protecting opportunities for woman in college sports.

“Women’s sports create opportunities for young women to earn scholarships and develop leadership skills. Hoosiers overwhelmingly don’t want those opportunities destroyed by allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports, and today’s executive order will make sure of that,” says Governor Braun.

As for the other executive order, which is Ensuring Indiana Law is Based on the Reality of Biological Sex Rather than Extreme New Gender Theories, Braun signed it so that Indiana won’t go with the extreme gender ideology, which has been a problem in women’s sports.
