Bradlee “Brad” N. Weatherford, 60, of Aurora passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Ripley Crossing with his loving family by his side. Brad was born on Friday, February 10, 1961; son of Glen and Shirley (Miller) Weatherford. Brad married the love of his life, Bonnie (Nead) Weatherford, on September 26, 1981. Brad owned and operated his own business, John’s Transmission, working as a mechanic in Aurora for 39 years. He was a member of many organizations including the Hopewell F & AM Lodge #80 in Dillsboro, Southeastern Indiana Murat Shrine, Murat Shrine Temple in Indianapolis, Moores Hill Sons of American Legion, and served as secretary/treasurer for Ripley Crossing Health Care Service. He enjoyed working on cars and old dirt bikes. He especially loved fishing at Lake Cumberland with his friend Jimmy.
Brad will be missed by his wife, Bonnie Weatherford of Aurora; children Jason (Stephanie) Weatherford of Dillsboro, Rebecca Strasemeier of Aurora, and Kevin (Anna) Weatherford of Dillsboro; parents Glen “G.A.” and Shirley Weatherford of Aurora; brother Tracy (Missy) Weatherford of Dillsboro; grandchildren Braden Foist, Nora and Alaina Weatherford, Michael, Grayson, and Colin Strasemeier.
Brad is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Norman and Bernice Weatherford; maternal grandparents Dixon and Bertha Miller; and brother Gene Weatherford.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Brad from 9 – 11:45 AM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A masonic service will be held at 11:45 AM provided by the Hopewell Masonic Lodge F & AM #80. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery.
