(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Primary School kindergarten registration and academic screening will take place Thursday, April 11 in the school gym, according to BPS principal, Brad Stoneking.
Children must be 5-years-old on or before August 1 to enter kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.
On Monday, February 5, families will be able to go to the Batesville Primary School website at https://batesvilleinschools.com/bps/enrollment/entering-kindergarten/ to pre-register incoming kindergarten students.
Upon pre-registration approval, families will receive an email with further instructions. After receiving the email, parents should register their incoming kindergarten student online following the forms.
At the end of online registration, there will be a link to redirect parents to the SignUpGenius portal where parents will sign-up for a registration and student academic screening time on April 11. There will be 15-20 minute registration and academic screening sessions that day.
During these sessions, incoming kindergarten students will take a short academic screening assessment. Parents will wait in the gym for students to finish their assessment.
Families will receive a document providing general information about kindergarten, but there will not be a formal presentation this year.
Parents/guardians and the child should plan to arrive at BPS together on the day of registration.
Parking is in the west side lot and the entrance is through the gym doors (Door F).
Families will need to bring their child and an original birth certificate to registration day. If applicable, families should also bring official court custodial paperwork or make sure paperwork is received by August.
Current Batesville Primary School Little Bulldog Academy Preschool families do not need to register online or sign-up for a registration or academic screening time. BPS officials say that registration information is on file and they will utilize preschool assessment data in lieu of the screening assessment mentioned above.
