(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg Community School Corporation has introduced Jennifer Bowles as Coordinator of the newly-established Greensburg Jr./Sr. High School Virtual School.

Bowles background in education includes a Masters of Arts and School Counseling from Ball State University.

The Rushville High School graduate previously served as a guidance counselor at North Decatur Jr./Sr. High School for the past seven years.

Bowles say she is passionate about combining the online education experience with a personal connection for the students enrolled in the Virtual School.

“This will not be a situation where a student logs onto their class and nobody is there to help them. They will have someone personally checking in with them, making sure they are attending class and doing well, and also have a plan to meet their long-term goals,” Bowles said.

The Greensburg Jr/Sr. High School Virtual School is a tuition-free, fully-accredited online public school available to all Indiana students in grades 6-12.

Enrollment is getting underway, and students will have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and explore different career pathways from the comfort of their home.

“I plan to get to know the students so I can support them and what they are pursuing. I’m excited to make this different and help each student succeed,” Bowles said.

Students will receive live instruction and will be provided with a Chromebook by the school. Bowles will be available to meet in-person at the designated Virtual School classroom in the Greensburg Learning Center.

Virtual School students who attend at least one in-person course (Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) will be eligible to participate in extracurriculars.

A Meet-and-Greet will be held at The Branch Gathering Place + Coffee House in Greensburg from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9.

Parents and students are welcome to stop by with questions or to receive assistance with registering.
