Shelbyville, In. — The body of a man found in the Big Blue River has been identified as Christopher Young, 38, reported missing from his Shelbyville home about one month ago.

A report from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department says the body was found Sunday around 4 p.m. in the river near County Road 250 West by the Young’s father and his brother while they were kayaking.

Young was last seen on the night of November 6. Family members said Young left that night to search for missing dogs near Colescott and Montgomery Streets and never returned. Police suspect Young may have been injured in an altercation and had become disoriented.

Police say this is now a death investigation.
