The Batesville Middle School 7th grade volleyball team improved to 3-2 on the year with a 25-10, 25-13 win over Jac-Cen-Del Thursday.
Coach Angie Ehrman said her team played well, made solid passes, and was aggressive at the net.
Earning service points were Jersey Trenkamp, who led with 16 points with 7 aces; Madi Dierkman had 8 points with 4 aces; Katie Wilhelm earned 7 points with 4 aces; Payton Yorn chipped in 3 points with 2 aces, and Isabel Meyer had 2 points for the Bulldogs.
In the front row, Molly Gesell had 4 kills; Trenkamp and Wilhelm had 2 kills each, and Jolene Dirkhising and Leah Meyer each earned a kill.
Coach Ehrman said Abby Miller, Cora Miller, Marley Denning, and Ellie Walke all played well and contributed to the win.
The BMS 8th grade volleyball team received solid contributions from everyone in Thursday’s 25-14, 25-6 win over JCD.
Caitlyn Fox scored 14 points with 4 falling for an ace to lead the team from the service line; Maddie Haskamp and Brooke Wilhelm each chipped in 7 points, and Ella Weber and Madilyn Meyer earned 4 and 3 points, respectively.
Ella King spiked well, earning 4 kills in 7 attempts, while Haskamp notched 3 kills in 11 swings. Wilhelm, Sydney Campbell, and Ellie Westerfeld all had 2 kills at the net.
The libero, Mimi Smith, led the team in serve receptions.
Coach Shelly Prickel’s 8th-grade team remains undefeated at 5-0 on the season.
