BMS Volleyball ends regular season a combined 21-1

It has been a successful volleyball regular season for the Batesville Middle School.  The 7th and 8th grades combined for a record of 21-1 with the younger girls completing a perfect 11-0 slate after a trip to Connersville on Thursday.

The 7th grade Bulldogs beat Connersville 25-11, 25-16.  BMS coach Angie Ehrman reported top servers were Maddie Haskamp with 9 points and Brooke Wilhelm with 7 points.  Caitlyn Fox added 5 points, Madi Meyer and Sydney Campbell each had 4, Alexis Gallagher earned 2 while Eliza Weiler, Claire Niese and Ella King each had 1.

In the front row, King had a team-high 4 kills. Ellie Westerfeld and Wilhelm each had 2 while Leigh Hertel, Campbell and Haskamp all had 1.

The BMS 8th finished the regular season in winning fashion with a 25-13, 25-20 road win. Batesville coach Shelly Prickel reported Addison Luers scored 14 points including 7 aces in 18 service attempts. Ava Walsman tallied 7 points with 3 falling for an ace. Ava Hilbert chipped in two service points including an ace.

In addition, Grace Walter earned 5 kills followed by Reesa Zimmerman with 2. Luers, Walsman, and Macy Young each contribued 1 kill.  The win improves the 8th grade’s record to 10-1.

The first round of the SEI Tourney is Monday, September 27.
