BMS harriers win girls, boys 4-way meets

The Batesville Middle School cross country team traveled to Jac-Cen-Del to take on the Eagles along with the Rising Sun Shiners and the Milan Indians. The Bulldogs were ready to run and came away with wins for both the boys’ and girls teams.

Leading the way for the boys was Levi Essick who won the race with a season-best time of 11:47. Also earning a spot in the top 15 for the boys were Cael Luhman in 3rd place, Abe Trossman in 5th, Hank Bohman in 7th, Ryan Benz 8th, Wyatt Essick 9th, Jasper Johnson 10th, Luke Raver 12th, Coleman West 14th, and Tripp Hertel 15th.

Batesville had a team score of 22 points while Rising Sun had 39. Milan and Jac-Cen-Del teams were incomplete.

The girls were once again led by 7th grader Ava Wade who was the meet champion in a time of 11:57.

The following girls also finished in the top 15: Jayla Bedel in 2nd place, Mayce Holtkamp in 3rd, Elia Wade in 4th, Caitlin Raver in 5th, Hilary Ziegler 6th, Rosie Gilland 7th, Nya Moon 8th, Audrey Dieckmann 10th, Aubrey Wederding 11th, Kenzi Lacey 12th, Addison Mills 13th, and Alyssa Cummings 14th.

The Lady Bulldogs had a perfect score of 15 points ahead of Rising Sun with 53 points and Jac-Cen-Del with 72. Milan did not have a complete team.
