BMS Cross Country Traveled to Terre Haute

The Batesville Middle School Cross Country teams traveled to Terre Haute to participate in the state cross country meet at the LaVerne Gibson course on Saturday, October 5.  It was a beautiful day to run and the girls took advantage.  The team was led by eighth grader Ava Wade, making the podium with a 9th-place finish in a field of over 400 girls in the small school varsity division.  Elia Wade was next for the team finishing in 27th place, followed by Ana Shane in 74th, Bailey Feldmann 105th, Emmalynn Allgeier 144th, Sydney Britton 166th, Audrey Dieckmann 181st, and Aubrey Weberding in 220th place.  The Bulldogs had a team score of 263 points, good for a 4th-place finish out of 46 schools.  Additionally, congratulations to the Lady Pirates of Greensburg Middle School for placing 2nd, also in the small school division.

The boys’ team competed next and had some good times all around.  They were led by seventh grader Cael Luhman.  Other varsity boys participating were Timothy Quillin, Wyatt Essick, Coleman West, Duncan Fish, Lucas Gadberry, Luke Raver, and Miles Lawrence.  The boys placed 51st out of a total of 56 teams.  Other conference teams in the small school division were Greendale in 40th and Greensburg in 45th place.
