The Batesville Middle School cross country team participated in the Eagle Classic Invitational hosted by Brown County Middle School.
The boys varsity team stepped to the line first in a field of 200 runners and were led by Jayden Fogle and Cael Luhman. Fogle earned a ribbon with his 25th place finish while Luhman was 27th, crossing the finish line less than two seconds after his teammate. Additional varsity runners for the bulldogs were Wyatt Essick in 43rd, Timothy Quillin in 65th, Cristian Peralta in 73rd, Duncan Fish in 79th, and Luke Raver in 90th.
Out of over 30 schools, the varsity boys placed 8th overall with 228 points.
Northside Middle School was the boys team winner with 95 points.
Ana Shane led the girls varsity team with a 12th place finish followed closely by teammate Emmalynn Allgeier who finished in 19th. Bailey Feldmann was the next bulldog to finish in 47th, Aubrey Kruthaupt was 64th, Lila Wade 82nd, Addi Fogle in 86th, and Eisley Peters in 110th.
The girls had a team score of 212 points, good for a 7th place finish.
Honey Creek Middle School was the meet champ with 95 points.
