(Batesville, IN) – Two groups of 80-plus 8th grade students and faculty members from Batesville Middle School were introduced on Wednesday to manufacturing related to industry at Batesville Tool & Die.
The groups were exposed to career opportunities in manufacturing.
Toby Walsman with Batesville Tool & Die presented the history of manufacturing and where it stands today (pictured).
Students also heard from company department leaders, who explained their roles and how their department contributes, from the process of receiving orders to getting parts out the door with on-time deliveries.
Walsman says this visit for the 8th graders was part of the Batesville Community School Corporation’s effort to ensure all students are exposed to experiences and opportunities related to classroom relevance.
