(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Memorial Public Library (BMPL) is asking for the community’s support as it enters the final phase of fundraising for its Arts & Innovation Hub.

The 8,300-square-foot creative community space is under construction in the heart of downtown.

The new Hub will include a 200-person event venue, a collaborative makerspace with tools for hands-on learning, a recording studio, and flexible rooms designed to support a wide range of activities.

The space is intended to serve artists, entrepreneurs, students, and local organizations by offering workshops, equipment, and programming that encourage both creativity and lifelong learning.

In addition, BMPL says an outdoor event lawn and gathering plaza will offer new opportunities for community events and public connection.

Following substantial support from the City of Batesville through a bond issuance and a READI state grant, the project is close to becoming a reality.

The Library is looking to raise the final $300,000 to open the doors and equip the new Makerspace with the latest tech, lounge seating for comfort, collaboration, and connection and site improvements.

BPML says your generosity will allow them to go beyond the basics and fully outfit the state-of-the-art community Hub.

“We are grateful for the strong local and state support that has moved this project forward,” said Kim Porter, BMPL Director. “Now we are inviting the community to join us
in bringing the Arts & Innovation Hub to life. This is an investment in Batesville’s future — in creativity, learning, and community connection.”

Donations of any size will support the purchase of equipment, indoor/outdoor seating, landscaping and launch programming for the Hub.

Contributions are tax-deductible.
