Bitter Cold Temps This Week; Warming Station Remains Open

(Southeastern IN) – It’s going to be quite cold this week.

Forecasters say temperatures dropping into the teens, combined with winds of 10 to 15 mph, will create wind chill values between 0 and 5 degrees.

As a result, the overnight warming station that opened Sunday afternoon at the Decatur County Health Department will remain in operation until 8:00 Friday morning.

The health department office is located at 315 South Ireland Street in Greensburg.

You’re asked to enter through Door 5.

To use the service, you’re asked to either volunteer at the shelter, or donate food or blankets.

Call the health department at (812) 633-8301 or the Washington Township Trustee at 663-5501 if you have questions.
