BHS’s King Wins Regional Shot Put Crown

Batesville’s Ella King won the IHSAA track and field regional shot put championship at Lawrence Central on Tuesday night.

King advanced to next Saturday’s state finals with a winning throw of 41 feet 5 inches.

Addison Luers narrowly missed qualifying for state after placing fourth in the 400 m dash with a personal best of 1:00.06.

The Bulldogs 4 x 800 m relay team of Bayleigh Demaree, Jayla Bedel, Paige Allgeier and Kaylynn Bedel finished fifth and missed out by two spots despite running a team personal best, dropping their time by 14 seconds (9:39.82).
