Beverly A. Stiers, 82

Our dear mother, Beverly Stiers, passed away on February 17, 2023 at the age of 82. She was born on May 6, 1940. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a loving sister, aunt, great aunt, and cousin. Her favorite thing in the world was being a grandmother to Evelyn and Audrey. They were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Stiers, her parents John P. and Clara Misiak, and her sister Betty Bruss. She is survived by her daughters Leslie Brown (Jeremy) of Fishers, Carrie Summers (Kyle) of Noblesville, her granddaughters Evelyn and Audrey Summers of Noblesville, and step grandson Zack Brown of Greenfield, along with many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her sister Johanne King (Scott) of Greensburg.

Everyone that met Bev loved her and remembered her for her red, white, and blue outfits, her sense of humor, and her kindness. She was always putting everyone before herself and would do anything she could for her family and friends. She was a true public servant that served 20 years as an elected official in Decatur County and then worked until age 79 for the State of Indiana. She was awarded the prestigious honor of being named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Frank O’Bannon in 1999.

Bev loved the Game Show Network, the Golden Girls, playing cards and games with friends and family, spending time with her granddaughters, her cat Befana, the Colts, and anything IU.  She will be missed beyond measure and her life and the impact she had on others cannot be captured in an obituary. She added joy to the lives of everyone she met. Bev was also a devout Catholic and always prayed the Rosary for friends and family in their time of need.

A rosary will be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg. Visitation will follow from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.  In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Vincent dePaul.
