Betty Lou May, 80, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the UC Medical Center in Cincinnati. She was born near Delaware on November 5, 1938 the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy Gilland Hosmer. She was married to Richard May on April 19, 1995 and he survives. Other survivors include her mother-in-law Catherine May of Versailles; two sons Clayton Dean Rork of Cincinnati, and William (Sandy) Rork of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; five brothers Bill (Lucille) Hosmer of Delaware, Don Hosmer of Falmouth, Kentucky, Harley (Sue) Rork of Owensboro, Kentucky, James (Brenda) Hosmer of Osgood, and Kenny (Julie Ann) Hosmer of Milan; three sisters Mary Thompson and Barbara Peck both of Osgood, and Jeanie Doan of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law Ann Rork, sister Shirley Jones, and brother-in-law Ronald May. Mrs. May was a 38 year employee of US Shoe in Osgood. She was also a former employee of Delta Faucet in Greensburg and retired from Madison Electronics in Versailles. Betty was a big fan of Elvis and she also enjoyed feeding her birds and squirrels, and tending to her flowers. Betty was a member of the Versailles Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Saturday, March 2nd at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman, minister of the Versailles Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will begin at 2pm. Memorials may be given to the Mud Pike Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
