Betty Jane Baker, age 87, of Liberty, Indiana died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her residence in Liberty.
Born July 19, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Dewey & Esther (Bennett) Fread. On June 17, 1946 she was united in marriage to Loren L. Baker, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2006.
She was a member of the Reily Presbyterian Church, and a member of the former Franklin County C.B. Club (Pokey). In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and most of all cooking and caring for her family.
Betty had worked at the former Jay Garment Company in Brookville, Oxford Lanes, and along with her late husband had operated Colony Bait & Tackle Shop in Oxford, Ohio for many years.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Christy (Ron) Alexander of Liberty, Indiana; Steven (Sandra) Baker of Oxford, Ohio; Robin (David Radtke) Baker of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Sue Baker of Brookville, Indiana and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband Loren, she was preceded in death by two sons, Rick Baker and Loren Douglas Baker; as well as a brother Donald Fread.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Pastor John Witt will officiate the Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Reily, Ohio.
